However, there are times when it is right to seek help away from the familiar family environment. Seeking counselling is about making a positive choice to get the help that you need.
What Is Counselling?
Counselling is a process that can help when feeling stuck or faced with changes in life that are difficult to cope with. Talking things through in a warm, confidential and safe atmosphere can enable us to make sense of experiences and help us find within ourselves, the resources to meet these challenges.
Counselling can help with a wide variety of problems, including most personal, relationship or identity issues. These can include:
- family & relationship difficulties
- work related issues
- divorce and separation
- personal growth
- anxiety, stress, depression
Counselling at The Clinic
At Bedford integrative Health Centre, our counsellor, Wendy Meniru, is psychodynamically trained.
Importantly, each client coming for counselling at the Bedford Integrative Health Centre is offered an initial assessment meeting prior to engaging in therapeutic work. This is a mutual process and allows the client time to decide whether s/he wants to continue and for the therapist to discuss what type of help is the right way forward at this time.
All work undertaken is in accordance with BCP/BACP ethical guidelines.
